You'll quickly notice the black bars above and below. I went to use my retail version of the film but it wouldn't extract. After playing it once several years ago to back it up, it's no longer any good at all. I had to use my backup copy. Unfortunately, the original retail DVD had a bad aspect ratio for most of its length. I applied black bars above and below to bring back the correct aspect ratio. The black bars represent the amount of picture removed by the media company just to ruin that aspect ratio. About 2/3 of the way through it goes back to normal. You'll also notice the remains of a company logo in the lower right, poorly removed by me at the time I made that backup copy. A pickpocket inadvertently causes the suicide of a man whose pocket he picks. He goes to the dead man’s village to return the stolen money only to fall in love with the deceased’s sister. Not just that, the money itself is part of the loot from a huge bank robbery. Upperstall has a short and less-than-favorable review of the film here: https://upperstall.com/film/pocketmaar-1956/
